Lucknow: In a landmark initiative promoting maternal health and infant care, Himalaya BabyCare has successfully established over 500 breastfeeding rooms across India, offering mothers clean, private, and comfortable spaces to nurse their infants with dignity.
This initiative underscores Himalaya BabyCare’s unwavering commitment to maternal wellness, particularly in public and high-traffic spaces, where such facilities are often lacking. The sensitively designed breastfeeding rooms are aimed at empowering mothers, ensuring they do not have to compromise on comfort or privacy while on the move.
These feeding rooms are now operational in 27 airports, including key transit hubs such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Goa, and in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow and Varanasi airports. The initiative also covers 33 railway stations across states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh, along with 268 high-footfall locations in metro cities and regional centers, and 141 hospitals nationwide.
As of June 2025, the total number of functioning feeding rooms stands at 502. According to a survey conducted by the brand, each room is used by an average of 30 mothers daily, highlighting the urgent and ongoing need for such infrastructure. This equates to over 5.5 million mothers annually benefiting from Himalaya BabyCare’s thoughtful and inclusive maternal care spaces.

Commenting on the achievement, Chakravarthi N.V., Director of the BabyCare Division at Himalaya Wellness Company, said:
“At Himalaya BabyCare, the care of mothers and infants is the heart of everything we do. With our breastfeeding facility initiative, we are committed to supporting mothers—wherever they are—with sensitivity and care. These rooms offer the privacy and comfort they need without compromising their mobility or convenience.”
This initiative not only supports dignified breastfeeding practices, but also marks a significant step in creating a mother-friendly environment across urban and semi-urban India. It aligns with Himalaya’s broader mission of providing every mother and child a healthy and respectful start to life.
By linking its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to a strong brand purpose, Himalaya BabyCare is actively contributing to a future where maternal care is not just available, but prioritized—leading the way in meaningful and inclusive social change.
